NY Fashion Week: Nanette Lepore

Nanette Lepore is known for her bold colors, evocative prints and signature silhouettes. She's a huge inspiration to me because she came from a small town in Ohio and moved to New York with only $5000 to launch her fashion line. Now her collection is all over hollywood and has been featured in a variety of fashion magazine such as Elle and Allure. Getting an invitation to her spring 2014 runway show and after party was a dream come true!

The show opened up with a pop of orange and a flirty white stripped skirt which I immediately fell in love with. The signature print from the spring 2014 collection was a stunning floral, reminiscent of scenic Nappy Valley. Blues and whites were trending colors at fashion week. A few of the models were dressed in white from head to toe for a clean and elegant look. I was very impressed with the models Nanette chose. She had an exotic variety of models from all ethnicities and they were absolutely gorgeous.

I knew Nanette Leopre's after party would be amazing so I dressed accordingly. Sherly Stavarez  styled me in a beige party dress with lace accents, fabulous shoes and jewelry from www.PeaceLoveThreads.comThe Nanette Lepore after party was held at the Soho Grand hotel. The decor was glamourous with romantic lighting. It looked like a scene out of Gossip Girl. I totally felt like I was among New York's upper echelon with my fancy glass of champagne. I met designers, photographers, editors and stylists from all over the country. After speaking with a few industry professionals I made a personal mission to visit every Mercedes Benz fashion week in the world. As the night came to an end I thought to myself "wow, this is just the beginning."
